ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates seeking admission to the LRN Level 5 Diploma in Business and Enterprise or LRN Level 5 Extended Diploma in Business and Enterprise program should meet one of the following requirements:
Hold an LRN Level 4 Diploma or LRN Level 3 Certificate, making them eligible only for the extended diploma. LRN will also consider equivalent qualifications from other awarding organizations.
Possess two Level 3 passes (at ‘A’ level standard) or a Level 3 qualification or higher from the regulated qualifications framework of the UK or overseas qualifications that are deemed equivalent by UK NARIC. These qualifications should have a similar number of learning hours and subject relevance to the LRN Level 5 Diploma or Extended Diploma program.
In the absence of formal qualifications, candidates may be considered based on their employment status and history, supported by a signed reference letter from their employer.
Additionally, candidates must provide evidence of English language proficiency.
Prior Knowledge, Skills, and Understanding:
While prior knowledge or skills in this area are not mandatory, a basic understanding of the subject matter could be beneficial for learners.
PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES
Upon successful completion of the LRN Level 5 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Business and Enterprise, candidates can pursue:
– Other qualifications at the same level (e.g., transitioning from a Diploma to an Extended Diploma).
– Further qualifications at or above the next level, such as a Level 6 Certificate or Diploma in Business or a Degree in Business.
– Employment in middle management positions.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
Please consult LRN’s policy on the Recognition of Prior Learning to determine if previously obtained qualifications qualify for possible exemptions.
ASSESSMENT
Mandatory units are assessed through an externally set assignment that is internally marked by the center and moderated by LRN. Optional modules are assessed through externally set assignments that are externally assessed and moderated by LRN. Assessments occur at the unit level with no overall grade for the Diploma. Candidates can access the qualification in a unitized approach, if desired, and are assessed against the published learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
Each unit is graded as pass or fail. Candidates who fail must wait at least three months before re-sitting to allow for sufficient knowledge enhancement.
MODE OF DELIVERY
LRN does not prescribe a specific mode of delivery for the LRN Level 5 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Business and Enterprise program. Centers may offer the program through various formats, including full-time, part-time, evening classes, or distance learning, to accommodate candidates’ needs.
